Talent or just time well spent working at a skill?

Some say I have talent, but I call it time well spent, working hard at a skill. I personally define talent as something that doesn't take practice to be good at something, whether it's sports, art, or any other activity. Having a skill takes commitment, determination, and a mindset that doesn't just look at the present, but also the future.

Gaining a skill to a professional level, without a doubt takes hard work. You go through easier times, and fall into more difficult ones too. In my own opinion, spending years at one skill, is much more beneficial than spending smaller amounts of time on multiple different skills. I have met many people that have said that they have no talent or hobbies, because they have never committed to anything. They bounce from one activity to another, and never take the time to actually see if they enjoy or like whatever the activity might be.

No one gets good at something overnight, however anyone who takes the time to try and achieve a goal, will become successful and eventually achieve it.

I have spent hundreds of hours working at becoming a better artist. I'm committed, I'm determined, and I have goals and future plans that help me to keep moving towards my dreams. I keep spending more time to increase my skill and It's not just a natural aptitude, however I'm not saying that people don't have natural skills, or talents, because people do. It's just that, the natural ability doesn't determine whether you can be good at something or not. It takes hard work, to be good at any and all skills.

Take time, work hard, and commit to your dream or skill. You don't have to be a natural, but instead skills will develop with time.

Talent: Natural aptitude or skill.

Skill: Time spent to have the ability to do something well; expertise.

At least every month, I hope to have a new Journal/blog entry. Feel free to make suggestions on topics!
